AAO-HNS Health Observances

The media relations staff assists Academy members as well as journalists with informing the public of the following health observances. Our current programs include:
- Kids E. N. T. Health is designed to offer parents and caregivers the latest information about the care, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric ear, nose, and throat disorders. Observed in February.
- World Voice Day, celebrated on April 16, is a health observance day advocated across the globe by physician specialists who treat the medical disorders that affect voice quality and allied health providers who teach voice preservation and rehabilitation for damaged voices.
- Oral, Head, and Neck Cancer Awareness Week (OHANCAW)
April 21 - 27, 2008
Sponsored by the Yul Brynner Foundation, this week long observance is designed to educate the public about these potentially-life threatening, but eminently treatable cancers. - Better Hearing & Speech Month Get a medical diagnosis for communication disorders During the month of May, the Academy asks all Americans to take steps to ensure better hearing and speech for themselves and loved ones.
