The Jerome C. Goldstein, MD, Public Service Award recognizes members for commitment and achievement in service, either to the public or to other organizations, when such service promises to improve patient welfare. The awardee will be honored during the annual meeting Opening Ceremony.
Recipient: Anna Pou, MD
Anna M. Pou, MD is the director of Resident Education at Louisiana State University School of Medicine. She has served on multiple Academy committees and has presented at national and international meetings on the topics of laryngology-head and neck oncology, and microvascular reconstruction. Dr. Pou has authored more than 40 publications, served on editorial boards, and is co-editor of the Head and Neck section of Head and Neck Surgery-Otolaryngology. She will be presenting a miniseminar at the annual meeting on disaster preparedness and lessons learned from Hurricane Katrina. It will include representatives from physician, hospital, government, military, and legal emergency-response groups.
