The Airway and Swallowing Committee is charged with fostering the discovery and distribution of scientific information regarding deglutition and airway disorders. Special concerns include the etiology, prevention, and early diagnosis of disorders causing dysphagia and airway compromise. The Committee will update the Academy's membership regarding the evaluation and management of laryngeal, pharyngeal, esophageal, and tracheal disorders causing swallowing and/or respiratory dysfunction. The Committee is also charged with evaluating present and emerging methods of diagnosis and treatment in addition to endeavoring to improve them for clinical use. |
