Opioid Education Resources

In April 2011, FDA announced the elements of a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) to ensure that the benefits of extended-release and long-acting (ER/LA) opioid analgesics outweigh the risks. The REMS supports national efforts to address the prescription drug abuse epidemic.

The Foundation is providing otolaryngology-head and neck physicians and surgeons with information regarding this REMS and access to REMS-compliant education programs that address this issue. If you wish to learn more and to participate in these programs please visit our new opioids page.
