Humanitarian Efforts Forum
Don’t miss the ever-popular Humanitarian Efforts Forum happening Monday. Gregory J. Basura, MD, PhD, Chair of the Humanitarian Efforts Committee, invites all attendees to listen, share, and discuss pressing issues affecting humanitarian action related to otolaryngology. “This forum provides invaluable insight from physicians engaged in humanitarian outreach who will share their perspectives on the current global landscape and discuss opportunities and challenges for sustainable humanitarian action.” This year’s Humanitarian Efforts Forum will be capped off with a stimulating debate titled, “Great Debate in Global Surgery: Medical Mission vs. Medical Outreach,” moderated by Dr. Basura and Ryan H. Belcher, MD, MPH. The distinguished panelists will include Susan R. Cordes, MD (United States), Carolina Der, MD, PhD (Chile), Johannes Fagan, MBChB FC(SA) (South Africa), Kelvin Kong, MBBS BSc, FRACS, MD (Australia), and Josh P. Wiedermann, MD (United States).
Whether you’re new to medical outreach or a seasoned practitioner, we encourage everyone to join the conversation.
Global Education Programming
The International Symposium is in full swing, featuring 42 education sessions that offer a global perspective on key issues in otolaryngology. Don’t forget to check the Annual Meeting app to view session titles by filtering for “International” under Special Focus.
For Spanish Speakers
Spanish-language programming has been particularly vibrant this year. “The two days of Spanish-language sessions thus far were packed with attendees, and the enthusiasm was incredible,” said Oswaldo A. Henriquez Ajami, MD, Chair of the Pan-American Committee. “The sessions cover ten essential topics covering all different subspecialties. The engagement has been inspiring, and the energy in the rooms is electric.” These sessions will be recorded and shared with the Latin American otolaryngology-head and neck surgery community after the meeting.
