The Great Debates Continue on Sunday in the Name of Scientific Progress

The Great Debates are some of the most popular events at each year’s Annual Meeting. For 2024, the Academy is excited to showcase another amazing set of structured debates with prominent thought leaders on some of the specialty’s most contentious issues.

“Medical debate is thoroughly necessary for scientific progress. Some of the most innovative and effective treatments for patients have been born from healthy debate among experts…[These are] true experts presenting their opinions on both sides of a controversial topic. As surgeons, we are always interested in the best surgical approach,” said Cecelia Damask, DO, AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting Program Coordinator-elect.

The first two Great Debates on Saturday provided great insight into two controversies of our specialty. Tomorrow, on Sunday, we have five Great Debates to continue the series.
