The Great Debates are some of the most popular events at each year’s Annual Meeting. For 2024, the Academy is excited to showcase another amazing series of structured debates by prominent thought leaders on some of the specialty’s most contentious issues.
“Medical debate is thoroughly necessary for scientific progress. Some of the most innovative and effective treatments for patients have been born from healthy debate among experts… [The Great Debates have] true experts presenting their opinions on both sides of a controversial topic.,” said Cecelia Damask, DO, AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting Program Coordinator-elect.
Tomorrow, there will be two Great Debates to kick off the series, one on comprehensive otolaryngology and one on pediatrics.
“Refractory Epistaxis: To Operate or To Embolize?” | Saturday 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm | Room 203-205
Christine Blanche Franzese, MD, will moderate a spirited debate between John S. Schneider, MD, MA, and Dileep R. Yavagal, MD, MBBS, on approaches to managing refractory epistaxis.
“When to Roll the DISE? Sleep Endoscopy for the Surgically Naïve Pediatric OSA Patient” | Saturday 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm | Room Art Deco 228AB
