About the Cochrane Scholars Program

The AAO-HNS/F leadership and the publisher of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, have identified a need to train otolaryngologists in the conduct and publication of systematic literature reviews. Systematic reviews have a high citation impact and serve as the foundation for evidence-based practice guidelines, clinical performance measures, and maintenance of specialty certification.

Up to three travel grants through the Cochrane Scholars Program will be offered for the 2024 Global Evidence Summit in Prague, Czech Republic, September 10-13, 2024. The Global Evidence Summit 2024 program will aim to promote shared learning and collaboration across all partner organizations and Summit participants through integrated evidence-based practice ‘program domains’ and cross cutting disciplinary/sectoral themes. In return for a travel grant to attend the Global Evidence Summit, grant recipients must agree to initiate and submit a systematic review to Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery for publication consideration within 12 months.

Attendees will be introduced to the world leaders in evidence summaries of healthcare interventions, and will learn state-of-the-art techniques for producing systematic reviews and meta-analyses.*
