I hope to come together with my fellow trainees from around the country and internationally with the common goal of having a unified voice at national meetings. The benefits of collaborating with colleagues from different training programs is that the best ideas as well as the trials and tribulations encountered by creating the best training environment are better learned from one another through regular interaction. The AAOHNS organization is made better when trainees meet with one another and work together towards a shared ideal. From a resident and fellow standpoint, our goals should be to create a safe but rigorous, quality training experience, with an emphasis not only on surgical skill but also professionalism, diversity, research, and work-life balance. I look forward to networking with my colleagues from different programs, and am excited to welcome everyone to L.A.
