I am interested in serving as the Board of Governors (BOG) Governor because I am dedicated to promoting Academy’s educational benefits and presence throughout the residency experience. I believe I would function well in this position as I previously held a major leadership role throughout medical school and have initiated a novel leadership training program within UPMC’s residency program. I previously served as liaison between the student body and administration to improve our educational curriculum, transparency, and communication. To this end, I frequently and successfully solicited student feedback and presented reports to the institution’s senior leadership. My primary goals for this position are threefold: (1) identify areas of improvement through direct feedback from society members; (2) serve as an effective liaison between BOG leadership and society members; and (3) promote member involvement and unity through leadership and engagement with Academy grassroots programs.
