The COVID-19 pandemic has reinforced the power of communication across groups and its ability to influence human action. In this vein, I am excited that the role of Information Officer presents an opportunity to optimize the flow of information between the SRF and its members. In medical school, I led several student groups and facilitated timely, reliable communication including within a chapter of the American Medical Association. This upcoming year, I envision the Section undertaking a more targeted approach at engaging members and igniting meaningful conversations. I would love to create a forum to highlight the heterogeneity of experiences across institutions during this pandemic and how programs worked to adapt and support their trainees. I would also focus on identifying new pathways to showcase the diverse achievements of our residents and fellows. My ultimate goal is to foster broader engagement across a multitude of current and emerging events.
