The American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Foundation is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™

The American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Foundation designates this live activity for a maximum of 27 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for the concurrent sessions. The new CME ENThusiast Track provides the opportunity to earn up to 35 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Additionally, a maximum of 40 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ will be available for the Scientific Poster Presentations either in-person or via the online gallery. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®) and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS) have collaborated to expand opportunities for ABOHNS Board-Certified Physicians to receive Continuing Certification (formerly known as Maintenance of Certification or MOC) credit for the high-quality accredited continuing medical education (CME) activities you are already participating in—including many of the activities offered by the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Foundation (AAO-HNSF). The sessions offered at the Annual Meeting will also count towards MOC.

How do I claim CME for the AAO-HNSF 2023 Annual Meeting & OTO Experience?

  • The CME site has now closed. The deadline to claim CME was October 25, 2023 at 11:59 pm (ET).

How do I access the mobile app?

What should I keep in mind before claiming CME?

  • You are encouraged to take advantage of the “My Schedule” function in the mobile app. Click the “Attending” button on the sessions you plan to attend to easily look back on those sessions when you are claiming CME. Sessions in the Claim CME site will be organized by date and time.

Does the AAO-HNSF use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) scanning?

  • Yes, each in-person attendee’s badge contained an RFID chip, which was automatically scanned when entering a session room to make it easier to find sessions to evaluate as part of the Claim CME process.
  • RFID was not available in the OTO Experience with the “Meet the Scientific Poster Authors” or “Rapid Poster Presentations.” Use the “Add Sessions to Evaluate” task to add these sessions and complete evaluations for poster viewing.

Will I be able to choose to evaluate a session if my RFID is not picked up?

  • When you are claiming CME, click the “Add Sessions to Evaluate” task to evaluate sessions that were not scanned.

What tasks do I need to complete once I am on the Claim CME site?

  • The first two tasks help you choose the sessions to evaluate:
    • The first task allows you to evaluate the sessions picked up by your RFID scan.
    • The second task allows you to add any session to evaluate if the RFID did not pick up a scan.
  • The third task is the overall conference evaluation.

Is there a maximum of credits I can receive?

  • Attendees can receive a maximum of 27 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for the concurrent sessions. The new CME ENThusiast Track provides the opportunity to earn up to 35 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Additionally, a maximum of 40 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ will be available for the Scientific Poster Presentations either in-person or via the online gallery.

When will I be able to claim credits?

  • Sessions evaluations can be completed beginning the day after the session is presented until Wednesday, October 25, 2023, 11:59  pm (ET).

Are there any additional tasks to keep in mind?

  • The remaining tasks allow you to download a transcript of evaluated sessions, the Certificate of Attendance, and Certificate of Participation for speakers.

What is the deadline to complete my CME Evaluation?

  • The deadline to complete your CME Evaluation and claim credit is Wednesday, October 25, 2023, 11:59 pm (ET). The site will officially close after this date.

Where can I access my Official 2023 Transcript?

  • Your Official 2023 Transcript will be available in OTO Logic, the Academy’s learning management system in January 2024. You will be notified by email once the transcript is available.

How can I continue to earn CME after the Annual Meeting?

  • Your registration to the AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience covers much more than you may realize. Full registrants will receive online access to recorded education sessions through OTO Logic for three years. Watch your favorite session again or explore a new topic for the first time. You will receive an email alerting you when the 2023 Annual Meeting Webcasts are available.
