Sections

The Academy’s sections provide opportunities for members to get involved and collaborate with others in similar demographics. Each section has a governing council, hosts a General Assembly during the Annual Meeting, and provides leadership and programming throughout the year.

Otolaryngology Private Practice Section

The Otolaryngology Private Practice Section works to serve the unique needs of private practitioners in practice management and patient care as well as facilitates essential communication with Academy leadership regarding wide-ranging issues of interest impacting otolaryngology-head and neck surgery.

Section for Residents and Fellows-in-Training

The SRF gives residents and fellows-in-training a voice in determining the course of their profession while still in training. All Academy resident and fellows-in-training are automatically members of the SRF.

Women in Otolaryngology Section

The WIO section is dedicated to assisting the career development of women otolaryngologists and those considering careers in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. All women who are members of the AAO-HNS are automatically members of WIO.

Young Physicians Section

The YPS is composed of young professionals who are under 40 or within eight years of finishing their residency and/or fellowship training. All members meeting these criteria are automatically members of the YPS.
