AAO-HNS Continues Advocacy on Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulation Coverage for Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (7/20/20)

On July 20, the AAO-HNS sent comments to Anthem opposing their medical policy designating hypoglossal nerve stimulation (HGNS) as experimental / investigational for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. The Academy requested Anthem revisit and amend its policy given the strong evidence supporting HGNS as efficacious in improving outcomes in patients with OSA.
