Anthem Announces Extension of Telehealth Flexibility (4/12/21)

On April 6, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield announced that, until further notice, they will continue to cover telephone-only medical services from in-network and out-of-network providers, when required by state law. Anthem will also continue to waive associated cost shares through May 31, 2021 for in-network providers, except where a broader waiver is required by law. In addition, telehealth visits for the speech therapy coded with Place of Service (POS) “02” and modifier 95 or GT is appropriate for the following speech therapy (ST) evaluation codes: 92521, 92522, 92523 and 92524 and ST treatment codes 92507, 92526, 92606 and 92609, where permissible.
