Goal: To introduce residents to the various advocacy opportunities at the academy. To educate and develop future academy advisors and leaders.
Target Audience: 3rd Year Otolaryngology Residents
Program Overview: The AAO-HNS Lee Eisenberg Resident in Advocacy Scholars Program will select two residents annually to participate in a one-year development program. During the Program year, participants will learn about the advocacy process, be exposed to advocacy issues and opportunities to engage in reimbursement, regulatory, and legislative advocacy activities. Fellows will receive a certificate of completion.
Recipients will Receive:
- Up to $1,000 to attend the 2026 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO.
- Expenses paid and a spot reserved for the AAO-HNS 2026 Advocacy Hill Day (date TBD)
- Opportunities to Participate in the Following Academy Activities:
- State and Federal Advocacy, including the State Trackers and Project 535 programs.
- Site visit with their member of Congress.
- Invitation to PAC events, receptions, and a dinner with Dr. Eisenberg during the 2026 Annual Meeting.
- A research project with the AAO-HNSF Reg-ent team and potential booth presentation during Annual Meeting 2026.
