The American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery recognizes that complications may occur following the placement of middle-ear ventilation tubes. Early recognition and treatment of these complications, as well as monitoring the efficacy of pressure equalizing tubes, are best achieved by follow-up visits with an otolaryngologist.
