The American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery endorses the concept of the use of AzBio Sentence (with or without background noise) and Consonant-Noise-Consonant (CNC) word tests as minimal reporting requirements for results of cochlear implantation in adults. The minimum speech test battery (MSTB-3) shall apply, at present, to adult patients only and is not required with respect to patients who have already been implanted.
