Faces Behind the Science (Day 2)

Faces Behind the Science (Day 2)

Dozens of Scientific Orals were presented today, and the Posters opened for viewing in the OTO EXPO. The AAO-HNSF is proud to showcase the latest ENT research, reflecting the vast breadth of the specialty. Our presenters have been hard at work for the last year or more on their research and many have traveled from around the world to share their findings and spark future projects.

“It is an honor to share my research with other presenters and peers,” said Julisa Nuñez, MS, a medical student at Georgetown University. Nuñez presented “An Analysis of Black Women in Otolaryngology-Head and Surgery: From Training to Practice and Leadership.” The presentation led to an engaging dialogue during the question-and-answer session. “Especially in terms of diversity, equity, and inclusion, it is great to be able to share our research,” she added.

Take in more presentations like this one at Scientific Oral Presentations 1 – Care Equity, Quality, and Safety tomorrow, Sunday, at 1:00 pm.

Theresa Tharakan, MD, MSCI, presented “Swallowing Outcomes of HPV+ OPSCC Survivors by POA(C)RT Dose in the MINT and E3311 Cohorts,” prompting some excellent questions from moderator Rod P. Rezaee, MD.

Dr. Tharakan enjoyed the opportunity to “share with the other presenters and hear about everyone’s research.” Her overall session sparked lively conversations after it was over, with both presenters and audience members taking extra time to discuss their perspectives on the studies they heard about.

There are 21 Scientific Oral Presentation sessions happening throughout the day tomorrow. So be sure to make time in your schedule to listen and join the exciting discussions of the latest research. Sessions feature five to ten individual presentations, each lasting a few minutes, with time for questions. Sessions are organized by subspecialty or track, and can be easily found on the Annual Meeting mobile app. Just search “scientific oral.”
