Evaluation of the Neck Mass in Adults is now available in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. The guideline addresses the appropriate testing and physical examination of an adult with a neck mass, with a specific goal to reduce delays in diagnosis of malignant disease and to optimize outcomes.
The Academy published a summary of the 2018 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) proposed rule. The summary addresses several payment and policy updates that will impact otolaryngologists, including the newly developed Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (ESS) and Balloon Sinus Dilation (BSD) codes. The Academy plans on submitting comments in September.
Interested in systematic review training? SAGE, publisher of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, will offer three grants of up to $3,200 to help fund members to attend the September 2018 Cochrane Colloquium in Edinburg, Scotland. In exchange, recipients agree to submit a systematic review to the journal. The deadline to apply is November 1, 2017.
