A Word from the Coordinator for International Affairs

Dear Global Colleagues and Friends,

Forward Together. What a fitting theme for the AAO-HNSF 2022 Annual Meeting & OTO Experience, held September 10-14, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am excited to announce that the Call for Science is now accepting submissions through January 24, 2022. I encourage my global colleagues to submit your research, experiences, and knowledge as part of the international symposium. This is an opportunity to be part of a world-class education program.

The last two years have been challenging for otolaryngologists around the world. This meeting will be a reunion and an opportunity to move forward together to learn, discuss, network, collaborate, and enjoy the camaraderie of your colleagues and friends. The International Advisory Board (IAB) and International Steering Committee are working with the Academy to welcome the international community to Philadelphia. Plans are underway for a stimulating IAB General Assembly, exciting International Symposium sessions, and an interesting and timely panel session at the Global Otolaryngology 2022: Your Academy Around the World.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to our 2022 guest countries of Argentina, Japan, Nigeria, and Spain who are recognized for their contributions to the specialty and the global community.

In addition to the 2022 Annual Meeting, an expected 1,000 physicians will meet at the XXXVII Pan American Congress of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery June 25-27, 2022, in sunny Orlando, Florida. The meeting will offer over 115 sessions focusing on the latest advances in the specialty and an education program featuring state-of-the-art treatment modalities and new therapies in all areas of the specialty. You can view the preliminary program and register by going to www.panamorl2022.org.

As we end the year and look toward 2022, my hope is as colleagues and as a specialty we can move forward together and gather in Philadelphia.

Happy holidays and best wishes for a safe, healthy, and prosperous new year.

Warm Regards,

Mark E. Zafereo, Jr., MD
