My goal is to represent SRF by promoting safety and advocating on behalf of the residents and fellows at the state and national level. As the recent COVID pandemic has shown us, healthcare workers must rapidly adapt to uncertain and evolving situations. These changes had an impact on our educational endeavors and personal safety with constant changes in safety regulations almost regularly. My vision is to establish a safety protocol for residents and fellows that may be applicable at all training centers going forward. This would require establishing connections and reaching out to local state and national members to create legislative actions. The current uncertainty in safety due to the delta variant is an example of work that still needs to be done. As I am currently on a research year until July 1, 2022, I will be able to actively pursue this mission with the flexibility in schedule needed.
