I will be an effective Information Officer/Secretary because I provide a detail-oriented mindset and an eagerness to take on the responsibilities of record-keeping of WIO section activity, as well as the establishment and maintenance of section communications. I have served as an active member in the Academy on the WIO Research and Survey Committee, the Laryngology/Bronchoesophagology Education Committee, and the Airway and Swallowing Committee – where I co-authored multiple AAO-HNS position statements including the Tracheotomy Recommendations During the COVID-19 Pandemic Practice Guidelines. These endeavors provided me with broad exposure to issues within our specialty, and opportunities to impel positive change. Two of my mentors, Drs. Sonya Malekzadeh and Selena Briggs, have paved the road for me by founding, and serving, WIO. They taught me by example that the best way to address matters facing women in our specialty is to participate in leadership. It is with this outlook I am hoping to further my service to the Academy through the role of Information Officer. I sincerely hope I earn your vote and this opportunity to serve.
